It is natural to focus on our strengths and sweep weakness under the carpet where no one can find it.
What I am suggesting here is to dig up, find and analyze your weakness. Granted, it is not the most comfortable and ego stroking method but in my opinion it is decisively vital to progress.
How should this concept effect your training?
First, find your weakness
- Technique
- Strength
- Endurance
Second, create a plan to address the weakness
- Technique: Do technique specific drills
- Strength: Lift heavy (squat, deadlift, press)
- Endurance: Higher volumes with lighter weights, jog
Finally, keep track, set benchmarks and watch weakness turning into strength, taking your fitness to a new level.

the three elements you discribe are like a 3 legged stool all 3 are equally important… so far I have learned so much in my own training, and as I tell my new boxers, you need to be disciplined and patient “Rome was not built in a day” set goals and plan your training, keep track and understand the effects your training has on your progress toward your goal.
Coach Dom
Coach Dom, you are absolutely correct. Analysis, testing, benchmarks and having a clear outcome in mind makes all the difference.
